Feel prepared and know what to expect before you visit Desert Hills for the first time.

When you walk on the campus, you will find a community of believers strongly committed to going deeper with God, the Bible, our church family, and the world. Desert Hills is surrounded by natural beauty, but we know you find greater beauty in the family you meet when you visit with us.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL SERVICE LIKE?

We’ve worked hard to create an uplifting, Christ and Bible-centered weekly worship experience where everyone feels comfortable — from someone who’s exploring the idea of faith to the person who has grown up in church.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Announcements / How to get connected
  • Prayer
  • Traditional styles of music [Hymns, choruses, etc.] with accompaniment (Organ, piano, soloists, groups, choir, instrumentalists, etc.)
  • A 25-minute practical message firmly rooted in Scripture
  • Time for giving
  • Communion – First Sunday of every month and special seasonal services

Services are typically around 1 hour long.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We have quite a variety of styles here from shorts and polos to sweaters, shirts, ties, sports jackets and dresses. Dress comfortably. If you are the type of person who gets chilly in a movie theater, we suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket.

You will never be asked to stand up or stand out in any way during a worship service. We desire to do everything possible to make your first experience at Desert Hills as comfortable, uplifting, and informative for you as possible.

All of our worship services are taught “live” by one of our pastors or a special guest.

Our worship music is traditional (hymns, spiritual choruses, etc.) and accompanied by various voice (choir, vocalist, group, etc.) and instrument combinations (organ, piano, guitar, etc.) Words and music are printed in a bulletin to make it easy to follow and sing along.

We encourage everyone to worship and participate however they feel comfortable during our services. While some may lift their hands or close their eyes during the music, this is not required or expected.

You are welcome to bring your Bible, but you are not expected to do so. Some bring Bibles to the weekend services while others use a Bible app on their phone or tablet. Scripture passages used during the worship services are printed in our bulletin.

Need a Bible? Please ask a greeter, usher, or any staff member. Desert Hills will be delighted to provide you with one.

No. The offering is a time for our members and regular attendees to respond to God in worship through the giving of time, talent, and treasure. Our service is a gift to you and your presence as our guest is your gift to God and to the Desert Hills family.

If you do consider Desert Hills your church home, you can learn more about giving here.

After the worship service is over, the Desert Hills family typically meets on the patio for fellowship and light snacks and refreshments. We would love to meet you and answer any questions you might have regarding Desert Hills or your experience with us.

You are invited to stop by the Welcome Center on the patio to receive a special gift as our way of saying “thank you” for visiting us. There you may also discover ways to get connected to the ministries of the church and receive answers to any questions you might have.

Do you have questions about Desert Hills or wish to meet with one of our pastors? Are you interested in joining Desert Hills? Please contact the church office.

Have you driven by our campus and desire to have a look around? Maybe you have been streaming services or have never ventured far from the sanctuary? We would love to give you a tour of our campus and answer any questions you have. To schedule a tour, please contact the church office.

Our greeters, ushers, and staff would be glad to answer any question you have. Please feel free to contact us as well with any questions you might have.
